Welcome to Gooney Creek Campground
Our Story
Gooney Creek Campground has been a privately owned family business for 30+ years in the spectacular Shenandoah Valley. Unlike other campgrounds in the area, we are a quaint, small, family-oriented campground with many repeat campers. From April 1st to October 31st, we offer 21 primitive tent sites (most along the creek), 19 sites with water and electric hook-up and a family site that holds up to 18 people. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit with a grill. Other amenities include a bathhouse (hot showers and flush toilets) free Wi-Fi and firewood for sale. With your homebase at Gooney Creek Campground be sure to visit all the attractions - Luray Caverns, Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, and enjoy canoeing, river rafting, day hikes and mountain climbing. The Valley is also home to numerous wineries and vineyards which offer great views, food and, of course, great local wines.
